Teriyaki Chicken & Rice

Savor the fusion of sweet and savory flavors in each bite with our Teriyaki Chicken & Rice recipe! Enjoy chicken coated in our delicious homemade teriyaki sauce, served with SmartRice and steamed veggies. Whip up this hearty family meal in less than 30 minutes!

Ingredients (serves 2):

  • 2 boneless chicken breasts
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 2 tbsp packed brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1/4 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic
  • 1 1/2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • Sesame seeds (for garnish)
  • Chopped green onion (for garnish)
  • 2 cups of SmartRice
  • Steamed vegetables


  1. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. While the pan is heating, start to cook your SmartRice in a separate pot.
  3. Add your cubed chicken to the pan and brown it until the chicken is cooked all the way through.
  4. While chicken is cooking, create your sauce. Add soy sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, water, honey, sesame oil, ginger, garlic, and cornstarch.
  5. Once your chicken is cooked, add your sauce.

  6. Turn your heat down to low-medium and continue stirring until the sauce thickens.
  7. Combine the rice, chicken teriyaki mixture, and veggies of choice to a bowl. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and green onions (optional).
  8. Enjoy!
